Powell River has an outstanding back-country that is accessible by road, air or boat, with world class fishing and hunting locations.  The Rod and Gun Club allows sportsmen to test new equipment and practice their skills.

Our club's mission is to promote safety, co-operation and good sportsmanship among those engaged in the fishing, hunting and shooting sports; and to protect, preserve and enhance our natural environment for the use and enjoyment of all.

our history

The Powell River Rod and Gun Club has been operating for over 70 years growing with the community of Powell River.  It started in 1937 as a fishing club that grew to include hunting and wildlife conservation.  The club became official in 1938 and included in its charter a commitment to "promote co-operation and good sportsmanship among those engaged in fishing and hunting and to protect, preserve and to propagate fish, game and forests for the use of the general public."
