  This shoot is an informal hunters shoot intended to provide an opportunity for rifle shooters to practice and enjoy a bit of good-natured competition.  The shooting is intended for hunters and target shooters.  Hunters get to practice with the inexpensive .22 rifle and ammunition and the target shooters can practice with different targets than used in formal competition.  Beginners and experienced shooters are all together as it is not a formal competition.  This event is held on Wednesday afternoon starting at 1:00 PM - indoor range in the winter and outdoor range in the summer.  The format is 4 targets; 10 shots each from prone, kneeling, sitting and standing positions.  Costs is $3 - $7 each shooter.   If you do not have your own rifle, the club has 7 target .22 CAL rifles and ear protection for you to use at these matches, but you must supply the ammo. We welcome all members of the club to come out, practice and test their skills to win bragging rights.

  The Yellow Jackets Target shooting team practices every Thursday. Our athletes range from 12 years old to over 60. We teach athletes of all ages how to safely handle firearms as they learn Olympic style 3-Position target shooting. All skill levels are welcome. This is a great family night for those wanting to teach their children about target shooting.

  This event will be held on the May long weekend 15 – 17 May 2026, hosted by the PQFG Henry Range. Located off highway 19 at 1245 Chattell Rd, Parksville, BC V9P 2Y3. The weekend will be a combination of a recreational Sport Shooting Sampler, a Canadian Sporting Rifle Match (Prone and 3P) and a Free Rifle 3P match. Applicable Sporting rifle and ISSF rules will apply for the competitive events. See the website for additional information.

  Advance registration is required. The organisers may accommodate limited on-site registration but reserve the right to refuse any unregistered athlete.

  The Powell River Rod and Gun Club is co-sponsoring this event with the Yellow Jackets Rifle Team and the PQFG Henry Range.

  This session is mandatory for new club members. Existing club members may also attend if they want to learn more about the club's operations, events and groups.

  You will participate in a guided tour of the club facilities, hear about club events and programs and learn about how our volunteers keep the club functional. Participation is required for new membership approval.

  The tour starts at the rifle range, which is found by entering past the facility gate and turning right at the first intersection.
